Are you ready for your Disney vacation? Ahead of Genie’s arrival in My Disney Experience, Disney makes planning even easier for those in need of a disability pass with the advent of registration via live video chat.

These big changes were reported just a few months ago for Walt Disney World and Disneyland, but now they’re finally here for those planning a Walt Disney World vacation, meaning guests can breathe easy with options to fluid planning.

Disney Parks have always been committed to “providing a welcoming and inclusive environment and accessible experiences to our visitors. As part of this commitment, Disability Access Service (DAS) is a program offered at Walt Disney World theme parks to help visitors who find it difficult to tolerate extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to of a disability.

Previously, visitors to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort could only register for a disabled pass when they were on site at the theme parks. Guests were to enter the theme park of their choice and then proceed to customer service where they were then to discuss their needs with a Cast Member. Cast Members will work with Guests to discuss details and offer assistance.

Now the new Pass Chat for Disability Access Services (DAS) is live on the Disney website, which means guests can re-engage their planning skills and take care of them before they get to their Disney vacation within 2 to 30 days of arrival.

The Disney Genie service, which is slated to debut on October 19, 2021, is also expected to include this DAS scheduling option as part of the software.

You can register for the DAS pass in two different ways. Pre-arrival check-in is now available via live video chat, or you can still choose to visit Disney Park Guest Relations in person at the theme park, as has been the traditional process. Cast Members will work with you to discuss details and offer assistance. Disney advises:

Before registering, be sure to:

  • Add your travel group to your List of family and friends, so that they can be included in the DAS plans

  • Associate a valid theme park entry for each member of your party

  • Make sure the guest requesting to use the DAS is present at the time of registration, either via live video chat, at a guest relations location or at the main entrance.

  • Be 2 to 30 days before your visit to the park.

When you’re ready to chat, visit Disney’s “Disability Access Service (DAS) Registration” page and scroll down to click the link to speak to a cast member.

There are a few important things to note about Disney’s DAS Advance scheduling option via chat. Live chat is only available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST and is only available in English at this time. Chat recording is not allowed.

The guest requesting the DAS service (or a guardian on behalf of those under 18) must be an adult and present during the video call. Please log into your My Disney Experience account before calling, or create your new account. If you have visual responsibilities, the chat is friendly to screen readers.

Once registered, the DAS disability title will be valid for up to 60 days. During your vacation, you can pre-select up to 2 one-hour return windows for certain experiences (subject to availability) using the new DAS Advance selection option as early as 30 days before a park visit. These selections are in addition to any return times you can claim throughout the day of your actual visit to the park.
